2021.09.26 05:26 younngtrouble Recording over midi, stems, or bounced instrumental? Latency issues (Logic Pro X)
Kind of a novice question but I don't see this covered much in tutorials on youtube.
When I make a beat from scratch and wanna see how I can flow over it, I notice a good degree of vocal latency in the headphones (audio technica ath-m50x) DESPITE having a lowered I/O Buffer Size (64-128.... I figure don't go ALL the way down to 32 if I have midi tracks in there right?).
Regardless, do you guys think for latency sake and CPU sake I should bounce these midi to stems BEFORE recording? Or hould I bounce it to a single instrumental file and record over that in an entirely different project window/alternative?
Just need clarification on it. Thanks y'all!
***Also, how do you guys feel about hearing yourself back while recording? I hear this is the best way to record but it tends to distract me (probably the latency) and I see that some people prefer not to..

2021.09.26 05:26 ThePoorCollegeKid Placing my Preorder for BRZ Tomorrow! Need Help!
I wan wondering if you guys can answer some questions about the order I am doing tomorrow. This car is my dream car.
First of all, let me get this off my chest. In my city I am usually stuck in hour long traffic everyday and I am going for an Auto. I'm sorry, but I hear about the stories my WRX friends have had and I just decided to make this decision.
What trim would be recommended? I personally like the leather interior but I actually have a knack for cloth seats. Also, I don't really need heated seats either for my own enjoyment. The extra inch on the rims are fine for me, but to be brutally honest I wont be doing any modifications to this car for maybe 2+ years. If anyone has any points on WHY to take the Limited Package, please give me some solid points.
I wanted the additional features of the All-Weather Floor Mats, Interior Lighting, and Rear View Dimmer. I was wondering about picking up the black spoiler, but I don't know if it is worth it. I don't have any pets either as well. If any of you guys have points on which items I should take please let me know!
I am ordering from NYC, so if anyone has a possible lead time let me know as well!

2021.09.26 05:26 naedwards22 Unpopular Opinion. If baseball can rule metal bats illegal in the pros, so can golf.
As the title states, I think it's long overdue that golf enacts some sort of distance regulation for the professional tours.
Personally I think if they just changed the density or dimensions of the ball it would make the playing field between ameteurs and professionals more even. But one other option that rarely gets considered is the use of wooden clubheads on the PGA tour.
For reference, the MLB consistently sees smash factors of about 0.92 for a pure contact pitch. Move that similarly to the PGA Tour, where Bryson Dechambeau swings is 132.9 mph, that translates to a ball speed of 122.26 mph.
It's pretty well known in the days of Shotlink that per mile of an hour of ball speed is between 2-3 yards of driver carry distance. If Bryson were to hit a ball with a similar smash factor and swing speed (and 2.5 yards per mph of swing speed), we are talking a driver distance of just north of 300 yards, significantly less than what he AVERAGES on Tour today.
Let's see some persimmons on the Tour and watch the pros bitch and moan about courses being too long ;)

2021.09.26 05:26 TeleportMePizza Jumbotron or LED Floor?
In lieu of the traditional Jumbotron (LED back drop), AEW used a new look for Grand Slam and had an LED floor.
I LOVED this and thought it was way cooler than the Jumbotron.
What would you like to see AEW use going forward?

2021.09.26 05:26 Throwaway567864333 What is a reason a person might be carrying a typical white lawn chair at 9pm down the street?
Suburban area - mostly a neighborhood-y area, but with a main road very close by with some small shops, although most being closed.
Okay, so someone I know that knows both the area and me very, very, very well saw me carrying a white lawn chair down the street about 0.3 miles from my house (which is like 5 minutes of walking distance). They are probably able to infer why I might be using it, and although nowhere near illegal, the reason they'd likely infer that I am using it for would likely be a singular, specific reason I am thinking of -- which they would interpret as a bad reason, which would be bad. This is all the details I am able to give.
So, what is a reason a person might be carrying a typical white lawn chair down the street?
Besides these reasons, that is:
-To meditate somewhere quiet - too weird
-To use wifi somewhere
-To go to a friends house / a gathering / family member's house / most things with another person
-To let someone borrow it
*The more answers, the better*. Thank you so much.

2021.09.26 05:26 kinnadian Connecting deck stair stringer to deck rim joist?
I'm at the point of connecting my stair stringers to my deck rim joist. I have consented plans but they don't go into detail as to how to do this connection. I've spent the last hour or so trying to figure out from the info online but can't find anything specific to NZ on how to complete this connection.
Seemingly this is the product I'm after: https://strongtie.co.nz/products/lsc-light-staircase-stinger-connector
Connected as per https://strongtie.co.nz/sites/default/files/LSC_Detail_Staircase-Stringer-Connection_preview.jpg
However I can't find any info to actually support the requirement of these (probably buried. And I checked the usual critters Mitre10 and Bunnings today and they have nothing like this, I would've thought this would be a common product if it was required, considering they hold all the other deck fixings?
Supposedly Placemakers are a seller of strongtie products but their website has nothing like this, and they're shut today. The best I could find was maybe using lumberlok multigrips either side of the stringer, but that wouldn't provide the support under the stringer like the above product would, so it would just be sitting on the shear force against the nails/screws.
Otherwise I could put M12 coach screws through the rim joist into the endgrain of the stringers?
Am I missing something here?? How do you complete this connection? Is it just a niche product I have to get special ordered from placemakers/ITM/etc?

2021.09.26 05:26 mikejungx Dumb question about crossplay
I know it may be a really dumb question, but I am dumb so whatever
I play on PS4 since season 3 and have a lot of items on my account Today I'm sleeping at my cousin's house and I want to play Apex on her Xbox, but I know the game doesn't have cross progression. If I login with my EA account, it won't cause anything to my account on PS4, right? I'll be level 1 on Xbox but my original account will stay the same, right?

2021.09.26 05:26 AmelioStar Can someone please tell me what's going on with my heart? I'm a little scared
[20M] [200 lbs] [USA] - My first symptom started the day before yesterday around midday. I felt a mild stabbing or aching pain in my left shoulder. This happened a few more times, but I wasn't all that concerned at the time. When the third or fourth one rolled around, my heart fluttered/skipped a beat at the exact same time I felt the pain radiate through my shoulder. I nearly went to the hospital, but I decided to wait it out. Later that day, my right shoulder had the same pain but still not as much as the left shoulder. Today, my heart has been fine all day long until now. I am short of breath, like I have to really strain to get air in, but I am known to have anxiety, acid reflux, allergies, and asthma. The middle part of my chest hurt, like a dull ache or squeezing pain. My heart is once again fluttering and skipping beats, with the same shoulder pain. I had an Echocardiogram about a year ago and it came back fine, but I do have Aortic Stenosis that is apparently so mild that some docs can't even tell. I am still always cautious about my heart. These pains I mention seem to come and episodes of about thirty minutes and my heart is racing all throughout it. Does this sound serious and should I get it checked out? Should I consider it urgent? I'm very afraid and just need some type of reassurance
Also, someone told me that their father had the exact same symptoms and had heart inflammation. I do have hypochrondria and I don't know whether I should believe my brain on the matter or what
